The Club was originally formed in 1999 by a group of car and motorcyclist enthusiasts who wanted to be able to use their classic vehicles competitively and organise other social events which could be enjoyed by members and their families. At the time, other clubs did not cater for the more modern classics dating from the 1950s. Current Club members have an extremely wide range of vehicles, which need not necessarily be purely for competition and, indeed, as there is no club definition of 'classic', owners of modern 'classic' vehicles are welcomed into the Club.
Activities organised naturally include the annual Speed Festival (vehicles must have been manufactured before 31.12.1978.) under the rules of the motor sport regulatory bodies, the MSA and ACU, track days in France, speed events in the other Channel Islands, regular motorcycle and car runs and associated family-orientated social events. Club members are often also invited to other clubs' events in France and the United Kingdom.
For those who have an interest in motor sport, but not necessarily as a competitor, the Club has a growing and dedicated team known as Normandy Rescue, who runs our motor sport rescue vehicles, provides safety training and acts as marshals at motor sport events both in and outside of the Island.
